Text Box: “Pound the Bounds” is derived from a centuries-old tradition known as ‘Beating the Bounds’ aimed at reminding everyone of the boundaries that were important in their lives.  Children would beat the boundary markers with willow wands and would sometimes have their heads bumped on boundary stones to imprint them firmly in their memories!
