ROCK SHOW EXHIBITION/COMPETITION

The annual Rock Show is one of the events organised to assist in our fund raising efforts. All the efforts in the past have led to the building of the new hall in 2007.

Proceeds from the show go towards maintaining the village hall for the benefit of the community. We hope that in the future we will raise enough money from various events to buy some new equipment for the kitchen and to keep the hall maintained and in good repair. Funds are also used to pay for regular cutting grass on the Millennium Green.

Horticultural Section

The Frank Haydon Memorial cup will be presented to the winner of Class 1

The B J Bore cup and a bottle of wine will be presented to the exhibitor gaining the most points in classes 2 to 32 ( point allocated: 3 for 1st, 2 for 2nd, and 1 for 3rd)

The Ladies ( Memorial Award) which is donated by Mrs Sheila Ward, in memory of Mr P Hedges, will be presented to the exhibitor gaining the most points in Classes 33 to 53 ( point allocated: 3 for 1st, 2 for 2nd and 1 for 3rd

The Prince and Princess of Wales cup and £5 will be presented to the exhibitor gaining most points in the classes 54 to 60

Age to be stated on all entries and no entries to have been previously exhibited. Age will be taken into consideration when awarding prizes

1. The show will be open for receipt of exhibits from 09.00 until 11.30. No exhibit shall be removed before 16.30.

2. All exhibits must be the property of the exhibitor and vegetables, flowers and fruit etc must have been grown by the exhibitor on land in their occupation. The committee reserves the right to inspect any garden or allotment

4. The committee may retain, for investigation, any exhibit which is the subject of a dispute.

5. The committee shall not be responsible for the loss of or damage to any exhibit.

6. Judges may withhold any award should they consider the entries not of sufficient quality.

7. Any exhibitor may enter more than one exhibit in any class, but will not be eligible for more than one prize in that class.

8. Prizes will be awarded by the judges whose decisions are final. The judges will not know the names of the exhibitors or competitors.

10. The cups will remain the property of the committee and will be held by the winners for twelve months. In the event of a tie, the cups will be shared.

11. All cups must be returned to Bob Marriott, Little Bullockhurst ,Quarry Road, Rock before the 1st August on the year following the award.

12. All photographs are to be a maximum size of 8" x 6". See entries marked *
