ROCK SHOW EXHIBITION/COMPETITION

Schedule of classes for Saturday 30th August 2008

Horticultural Section

The Frank Haydon Memorial cup will be presented to the winner of Class 1

The B J Bore cup and a bottle of wine will be presented to the exhibitor  gaining the most points in classes 2 to 32 ( point allocated: 3 for 1st, 2 for 2nd, and 1 for 3rd)

COOKERY, ARTS & HANDICRAFTS SECTION

The Ladies ( Memorial Award) which is donated by Mrs Sheila Ward, in memory of Mr P Hedges, will be presented to the exhibitor gaining the most points in Classes 33 to 53 ( point allocated: 3 for 1st, 2 for 2nd and 1 for 3rd

37 A fruit cake - any recipe
38 A fruit pie on a plate
39 4 fruit scones on a plate
40 A Victoria sandwich-equal quantities

CHILDREN'S SECTION

                   The Prince and Princess of Wales cup will be presented to the exhibitor gaining most points in the classes 54 to 60

Age to be stated on all entries and no entries to have been previously exhibited. Age will be taken into consideration when awarding prizes

EXHIBITION RULES

1. The show will be open for receipt of exhibits from 09.00 until 11.30. No exhibit shall be removed before 16.30.

2. All exhibits must be the property of the exhibitor and vegetables, flowers and fruit etc must have been grown by the exhibitor on land in their occupation. The committee reserves the right to inspect any garden or allotment

3. All exhibits must be free of disease.

4. The committee may retain, for investigation, any exhibit which is the subject of a dispute.

5. The committee shall not be responsible for the loss of or damage to any exhibit.

6. Judges may withhold any award should they consider the entries not of sufficient quality.

7. Any exhibitor may enter more than one exhibit in any class, but will not be eligible for more than one prize in that class.

8. Prizes will be awarded by the judges whose decisions are final. The judges will not know the names of the exhibitors or competitors.

9.Exhibitors are to supply their own containers, plates, vases etc

10. The cups will remain the property of the committee and will be held by the winners for twelve months. In the event of a tie, the cups will be shared.

11. All cups must be returned to Mrs Margaret Nott ,Bullockhurst Cottage, Rock before the 1st August on the year following the award.

12. All photographs are to be a maximum size of 8" x 6". See entries marked *
